Service: Weinberg Project 2006 Each year, the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation provides organizations like Zonta Club of Hilo the opportunity to give money to community groups that provide direct service to those in need. To qualify for the funds, though, an organization must do a hands-on community service project. In the Fall of 2006, 25 members of Zonta Club of Hilo cleaned, scrubbed and painted at the Neighborhood Place of Puna—a center that helps families deal with crises. Because of this service, the Weinberg Foundation gave $10,000 to The Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council in Zonta Club of Hilo's name. See Hawaii Tribune-Herald Article
