- 2 Scholarships & 5 Awards for women in public affairs, nursing, communications, business, STEM, excellence, and entrepreneurship.

When our daughter was a senior at Waiakea High School, she received an award from the Zonta Club of Hilo. Your award reinforced in her the idea that women could do anything.
She had received an appointment to the Air Force Academy from Senator Daniel Inouye. Although she trained daily before leaving for the Academy, she was sent home after a few weeks of summer training. Fortunately, she had also been accepted at the University of Hawaii so off she went to Manoa where she enrolled in the AF ROTC Program. She graduated and joined the Air Force as a second lieutenant. Today she is a colonel in the US Space Force and is stationed at the Pentagon as Director of Current Space Operations.
We are most appreciative of the honor you bestowed on her. We are also grateful for the scholarship you give to women graduates and the assistance you give to those who are starting small business.
